The edgy universe of French designer Thierry Mugler is on display thru May 7, 2023 at Brooklyn Museum with Couturissime, the first retrospective to explore the groundbreaking designs of the fashion icon himself.
Mugler carved out his place in fashion history by using unorthodox materials including vinyl, chrome, plexiglass, latex, and glass. These unique designs were brought to life by a bevy of the world’s most renowned supermodels and became part of pop culture lore that still inspires today, from ballroom houses to Drag Race runaways to A-list celebrities on the red carpet.
