Leave the cooking to New York's top chefs and indulge in a feast with all the trimmings.

Back to List

We’ve rounded up five of the city’s very best restaurants ready to host you and your loved ones this Thanksgiving, from candlelit West Village dining rooms to SoHo institutions. Top chefs from Ken Addington to Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Andrew Carmellini have crafted holiday menus that honor tradition with their own delicious twists, whether you’re craving roast turkey with all the trimmings, a plant-based feast or a showstopping beef Wellington. However you gather, these menus make celebrating feel like home, minus the dishes.

Grand Bar and Lounge

Make reservations instead of recipes this year. Grand Bar and Lounge at Soho Grand Hotel is turning Thanksgiving into a grand affair with a feast of seasonal flavors, comforting classics and festive indulgence. Chef Ken Addington’s menu stars his roasted turkey feast, alongside braised short ribs, field mushroom pappardelle and snow crab claws. Save room for dessert: an Armagnac and sugar plum crème brûlée or a chocolate pecan tart. The Thanksgiving menu is served on Thursday, November 26 from 12pm.

One if by Land, Two if by Sea

For a Thanksgiving steeped in old New York romance, book a table at this candlelit West Village landmark, set in a historic carriage house on Barrow Street said to have once belonged to Hamilton’s rival, Aaron Burr. The $195 per person menu opens with a roasted pumpkin croquette, followed by a choice of New England lobster bisque, Sancerre-spiked oysters or steak tartare. For the main course, choose a traditional roasted turkey with sage stuffing and cranberry relish, or the restaurant’s signature beef Wellington. A wild mushroom and chestnut Wellington means vegans won’t miss out. Finish with a dessert tasting of chocolate pistachio mousse and apple tarte tatin.

abcV

For those looking for a plant-based feast, abcV is the place to be this Thanksgiving. The light, stylish Jean-Georges outpost on East 19th Street is serving a $168 per person three-course menu. Start with ginger lemongrass carrot soup or cornmeal-crusted oyster mushrooms, then move on to a wild mushroom roulade or the holiday special, shiitake and parsnip au poivre. Every table shares family-style sides of olive oil mashed potatoes with sherry mushroom gravy, chestnut stuffing and cranberry gelée. Finish with vegan pumpkin pie or old-fashioned apple pie.

The Dutch

Andrew Carmellini’s beloved Soho restaurant, The Dutch, is serving a three-course Thanksgiving meal for $165 per person and $68 for children 12 and under. Start with half a dozen Wellfleet oysters, jumbo shrimp cocktail with peekytoe crab, or buffalo-style turkey wings. Then dig into a family-style feast of organic roast turkey, spoon bread stuffing with andouille sausage, roasted butternut squash, Brussels sprouts with bacon, and mashed potatoes with rich turkey gravy. For dessert, choose classic chocolate pudding, caramel apple pie, pumpkin pie or pecan pie. Celebrating at home? Carmellini’s Thanksgiving Takeaway Feast is available for pickup at sister restaurant Lafayette on November 25 and 26.

The Noortwyck

For a Thanksgiving that feels both elevated and easygoing, head to The Noortwyck, the West Village restaurant from chef Andy Quinn and sommelier Cedric Nicaise, who met at Eleven Madison Park. Its name is Dutch for “North District,” a nod to the northern tract of New Amsterdam it sits on. Start with a caviar hash brown or honeynut squash soup with sage brown butter. Then choose roasted turkey breast with all the trimmings, slow-roasted prime rib au jus or sunchoke and black truffle agnolotti, with sides like whipped sweet potatoes and charred green beans. Pair it all with something from the deep wine list, and finish with a slice of pumpkin, bourbon pecan or Dutch apple pie.
