The Gallery at Soho Grand is a modern new art gallery and event space in the heart of SoHo. Located at street-level, The Gallery at Soho Grand Hotel features a stunning open floor plan spanning 1,345 sq-ft. This “white-box” space offers versatility with refined industrial elegance and boasts hardwood flooring with ample natural light through large storefront windows. The Gallery, inspired by the artistic legacy of the neighborhood itself, has a dedicated, private, street entrance and bathrooms, and also has the ability to connect directly to Gilligan’s, Soho Grand’s outdoor restaurant and venue, open seasonally May-September. This June, The Gallery at Soho Grand will unveil a rare and intimate look into the creative world of iconic American designer Bob Mackie. Opening to the public on June 4, 2025, Bob Mackie: From Sketches to Spotlight will showcase a collection of original sketches, some of which have never been seen outside the designer’s private archive.
Renowned for dressing the most dazzling figures of pop culture—from Cher and Diana Ross to Carol Burnett and Madonna—Bob Mackie’s work is synonymous with spectacle, glamour, and showmanship. This exclusive exhibition offers an unprecedented view of Mackie’s artistic process, capturing the hand-drawn beginnings of the looks that helped define decades of fashion and performance.
Curated in collaboration with the Bob Mackie archive, the exhibition highlights sketches spanning Mackie’s prolific career, including early television costume concepts, haute couture visions, and custom creations for stage and screen. Each drawing is a testament to Mackie’s enduring influence on fashion, celebrity, and American culture.
Bob Mackie: From Sketches to Spotlight will be on display from Wednesday, June 4th thru Sunday, August 31st. The exhibit is free and open to the public Wednesday thru Sunday, from 12PM-6PM.
