Housekeeping Manager
Position Summary
The Soho Grand Hotel is looking for a motivated and reliable Housekeeping Manager who will be responsible for ensuring all guest rooms and surroundings are clean and in good repair. You simply must love hospitality and being around some of the most interesting people in New York City on a daily basis.
The Housekeeping manager at Soho Grand Hotel must be able to maintain an inventory of all supplies needed to supply the housekeeping department while maintaining par levels and keeping up with ordering. They must be detail oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks, as well as take ownership of and resolve problems or concerns of the team and guests. To be a successful Housekeeping Manager at Soho Grand they must be reliable, organized, self-directed, and able to make decisions with minimal direction. Must be able to work in a stressful environment, anticipate guest needs and preferences while providing guidance to all team members on a daily basis. The Housekeeping Manager will also be responsible for maintaining training support and all materials needed to complete their daily assignments.
Role Responsibilities
- Ability to cover the Director of Housekeeping administrative duties in their absence.
- Select the best available personnel.
- Train to proper standards.
- Instruct and train all housekeeping positions.
- Keep record of personnel and purchases.
- Make out work schedules and work assignments.
- Control use of keys, materials, uniforms and equipment.
- Control inventories and linen distribution.
- Coordinate projects and assignments with houseman, room attendants, and all other Housekeeping personnel as outlined by Executive Housekeeping Manager.
- Regularly inspect guest rooms to ensure high quality.
- Regularly inspects linen and storage closets to ensure inventory is at set par levels.
- Spot check guest rooms cleaned by room attendants.
- Assist in training and retraining in the proper use of equipment and cleaning procedures.
- Assign work to night and overnight team.
- Monitor use of supplies, amenities and other products used in the department to ensure the least amount of waste.
- Orders supplies, linen, and equipment used within the department and throughout the hotel.
- Handle guest requests and concerns.
- Empowered to make decisions on behalf of the hotel to satisfy the guest.
- Expect to resolve problems or concerns brought to your attention by a guest or fellow team member while keeping the Executive Housekeeping Manager informed.
- Responsible for maintaining a picture perfect environment, including front of house, back of house and outside areas.

Requirements
Education: Trade School and/or College degree preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years as a Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager of a property with at least 100 rooms.
Skills: Fluency in the English language, clear verbal communication skills, computer skills, familiar with OPERA Cloud System, Knowcross and Microsoft Word & Excel.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
