The Soho Grand, owned and developed by Leonard and Emanuel Stern of Hartz Mountain Industries, opened in August 1996, the first hotel to arrive in SoHo in more than a century. Designed by architect David Helpern and interior designer William Sofield, the luxury boutique hotel was redefined the day we opened our door, right where it should be—in SoHo, New York City, of course.
